Bringing a Brazilian classic to Vancouver.
VanSweet started as a small business bringing brigadeiros, a traditional Brazilian sweet, to Vancouver.
I co-founded the project and took care of its visual identity, website, photography and communication.
A brand built around the product.
The identity grew naturally from the product: warm colors, simple typography and circular shapes inspired by the brigadeiros themselves.
I wanted VanSweet to feel handmade and approachable without looking homemade.
Designing around the flavours.
With so many flavours, the website needed to make them easy to browse without losing the personality of the product.
I used photography and the circular shapes from the identity throughout the site, keeping the structure simple and letting the brigadeiros do most of the visual work.
Made to be shared.
Social media was where we shared new flavours, seasonal products, events and everyday moments from VanSweet.
It also gave me a chance to use the photography and visual identity in different ways, depending on what we were sharing.
